Save Your Home With Water Restoration
Running water is an amazing convenience that we all take for granted. Of course, running water that keeps running when it shouldn’t is a disaster waiting to happen.
There are areas all over your home that could flood and cause damage to your belongings or your home itself. Water restoration can be an expensive and timely process, and in this case, the old saying is very true: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
If you are aware of some of the situations that can cause flooding in your home, you may be able to prevent them. For instance, we’ve all dealt with a running toilet from time to time. Typically a toilet runs when the gasket of a toilet becomes old and begins to break down causing an imperfect seal. If the seal is not tight, water will continue to run into the bowl which means water will keep running into the tank to refill the water that is leaking into the toilet bowl.
Of course, the excess water in the bowl normally just passes through the pipes, but what happens if your toilet has a clog while water keeps leaking into the bowl? The answer is, unfortunately, an overflowing toilet. If this happens while you are alseep or away from home, the water will just keep running and can leak through the floor into other areas of your home.
To prevent this problem, any time you notice your toilet running when it shouldn’t be, turn the water off to the toilet until you can fix the problem. It might be a hassle, but it will save you a much bigger headache in the long run.
